ID card mandatory for newborns within 120 days: UAE with notification

Abu Dhabi: UAE announces ID card mandatory for newborns within 120 days. The validity of the sponsor’s visa will depend on the validity of the child’s card. This is facilitated by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security website and app. The application requires a copy of the child’s passport, photo, passport copy along with the sponsor’s visa page, e-dirham receipt and birth certificate.

The main condition is that the sponsor’s visa must be valid. If there is a penalty for late taking the child’s card, it must be paid first.

Once the application and fee for the ID card is paid, the authorities will inform you of other details via e-mail. However, if you are more than 30 days late to apply for an ID card, you will be fined 20 dirhams each day. Authorities have warned of a fine of up to 1,000 dirhams per card.
