If he can score a triple century in ODIs, that player will make history; Sunil Gavaskar revealed

Although Team India ended the calendar year with a 2-0 Test series win in Bangladesh, it was not a good year for Indian cricket. The team, which performed brilliantly in the bilateral series, has had a disappointing performance in the multinational tournaments. They were knocked out in the Asia Cup before making it to the knockout stages, and then lost to England in the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-finals.

However, there were some positive aspects; Many young people stood out with their performances. Sunil Gavaskar has praised Ishan Kishan, who recently scored a double century.

In a conversation with Sony Sports Network, Gavaskar praised Ishan’s 210 in India’s 188-run win over Bangladesh in the third ODI at Chattogram. He became the youngest player to score the fastest double century in ODI cricket in 133 balls.

“When you see young players coming through, it means there is hope for the future. Ishan Kishan became the player of the year with his double century in the 50 over competition. That’s a great achievement. Had he stayed at the crease, he would have scored the first triple century in ODIs,” Gavaskar told Sony Sports Network.

Ishan, who is currently playing in the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy, has been named in the squad for the ODIs and T20Is at home against Sri Lanka next month. In the absence of Rishabh Pant, he is likely to fill the position of the team’s first-choice wicketkeeper in the series.
