Sergei Shnurov
“I took a media break” – this is how the creator of the Leningrad group, film actor and television personality Sergei Shnurov explains his “disappearance from the radar”. He now, as a rule, refuses interviews, from direct participation in television and film projects. Shnurov was even suspected of having already followed or intends to follow the example of some of his colleagues who left Russia. However, Sergei Vladimirovich assures that such an option does not suit him categorically.
Long-standing midlife crisis
“At the age of 15, I thought that I was somewhere in my 30s, and I am in this state. Turning 30, as you know, is a midlife crisis. I’ve been in this crisis since I was 15 years old, ”Snurov recently admitted publicly. Last month, he celebrated his 50th birthday and agreed to at least one interview.
What Shnurov has never tried in his life. After school, he began to study at the Leningrad Civil Engineering Institute. He did not finish, he went to receive the specialty of a restorer of works made of wood. After three years he spent at the Faculty of Philosophy at the Theological Institute.
Sergey earned his living as a loader, watchman, glazier, blacksmith, carpenter. And later – a designer, an assistant on the set of video clips and even a promotion director at a radio station.
But Shnurov became famous precisely as a musician. He became addicted to this activity at school, eventually preferring garage and punk rock. The image of a sort of rebel, the obligatory presence of profanity in the texts.
Today Sergey Vladimirovich is ready to share with everyone the recipe for creating a hit:
“80% should be something familiar and recognizable, it doesn’t matter, harmony, some familiar musical phrases, turns of speech. And 20% – something unexpected and new. People have to think they’ve heard it somewhere, and then, “Oh, it’s such an amazing twist here!”
It would seem that a ready-made guide – act and succeed. Shnurov managed to establish himself as a gifted TV presenter. Rise in the cinema to quite convincing dramatic roles, like Zarezin in The Elephant.
Sergey was looking for himself in politics, and he was the general producer of an international TV channel. Got away from a lot today. But he assures: he does not seek to go abroad.

The temperamental Cord had many novels. Only in the registry office he visited four times, not to mention the relationship, the official registration of which no one bothered.
Shurov became a father at the age of 20 – his first wife Maria Ismagilova gave the musician a daughter, Seraphim. Growing up, the girl studied Chinese philosophy, and eventually focused on graphic design.
The son of Apollo, in honor of the poet Apollon Grigoriev, was born to Shnurova 23 years ago by wife number two – the former director of the Pep C group, Svetlana Kostitsina. For eight years, Sergei was married to a rather bright woman with creative inclinations, who preferred the pseudonym Matilda. But in fact, Elena Mozgova.
Today, Shnurov is already a father four times. In 2018, he married Olga Abramova. She is the daughter of Valery Abramov, who used to be the head of the security service at the Ural Metallurgical Company in Yekaterinburg. Then he was transferred to the head office in the capital as director of external relations.
“She introduced herself as a candidate of sciences, described her scientific work in long sentences. She, in general, is an art critic, ”Shnurov said about his fourth wife.
About a year after the wedding, Sergei announced that he would no longer perform with Leningrad. He generally became calmer, moved away from most loud parties. Olga gave birth to Shnurov two children. The second one was born last summer. Abramova is 18 years younger than her husband.
“I’m not that kind of person, I don’t like it”
Today Shnurov continues to promote his new project “Zoya”, in which he himself does not go on stage. Reviews about the brainchild of Sergei are ambiguous.
“My creative plans are always pretty banal. The thing is, apparently, I can’t stop writing. Everything is fine with Zoya, we are working on new material, I think that this year we will release another album, ”the composer and musician says at the same time.
In the cinema, fans last saw their pet at the end of 2022 – in the melodrama Golden Neighbors. The film has a lot of really stellar actors.
Shnurov owns 20 percent of a company that produces content for television. According to media reports, Sergei Vladimirovich has a restaurant business and a clothing line.
He says that he never thought about leaving Russia for a minute: “I have always been rather skeptical about the so-called émigré song genre. If you leave, then you have no choice but to give yourself entirely to this direction. You have to constantly reflect on how good it was. I’m not that kind of person, I don’t like it, it’s not close to me.
