This Sunday a little more than 470,000 Chubut citizens are empowered to elect the successor to the governor Mariano Arcioni, whose management ends with very low approval ratings. The names that bid to succeed it with those of IGnacio ‘Nacho’ Torresthe candidate of Together for Change, and for Peronism the candidate is John Paul Luke, current mayor of Comodoro Rivadavia.
In this context, “Nacho” Torres, senator of JxC, voted in Trelew School 5, and he placed special emphasis on requesting that people go to vote, because the phenomenon of low voter participation has been a constant in several provincial elections and at 11 am in Chubut only 10% of the register had voted.
Torres pointed out, as the opposition candidates in Córdoba did at the time, that “the provincial government did everything possible to discourage people’s participation” and considered that “the greatest act of rebellion is to come and vote.”
