“Most often, customers give me ‘Thank you’ chocolates to thank me, laughs Patrick Villar Meneses. Others give me beer, wine, or money”. This 29-year-old resident has been offering a free computer repair service in his family home in Mamer for fifteen years. He created his site Internet, named iHelef, through which people can contact him for advice or more. It does not ask for anything, except the support of the parts to be changed.

Its customers are more or less old, are Luxembourgish, French or Portuguese. “A Chinese woman, who spoke no other language than her own, even came one day, says Patrick, who has dedicated part of the house to a computer workshop. I managed to reset the computer, talking to her through translation software.

Patrick seems to have a very good knowledge of computers, since he also creates his own computers. We can see in his workshop a computer in the shape of a glass pyramid, another inserted in a model boat or even in a table. “I learned everything myself, from the age of 10-12, explains the resident. When I get a broken computer, I want to find the problem, it’s like a detective game”.
