The detained men were identified as members of a criminal group dedicated to illegal mining and human trafficking.

While carrying out patrol duties, officials from the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (Fanb) captured six subjects with weapons of war in the Bolívar state.

According to the information published by General in Chief Domingo Hernández Lárez, strategic commander of the Fanb, the detained citizens engaged in the depredation of nature through the practice of illegal mining.

“Hindering a penetration route to maintain the isolation of the mines and areas to control trafficking in persons and illegal mines,” he added on his official Twitter account.

Hernández Lárez reported the capture of a subject identified as a terrorist, who did not carry any type of documentation.

Said man is an alleged member of a criminal group involved in the crimes of human trafficking, illegal mining and environmental depredation, using and carrying weapons of war.

Another of the arrested citizens carried an AR-15 rifle, also a member of a gang that disabled roads to dominate a sector and isolate the mines.
