After Sonny Kittel (30) left at the end of his contract on June 30, Hamburger SV signed Immanuel Pherai, as expected. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder comes from second division competitor Eintracht Braunschweig and has signed a contract until 2027, as the “Rothosen” announced on Saturday. According to the “Hamburger Abendblatt”, only 750,000 will ultimately be due for Pherai via the opt-out clause. The reason is that HSV was not promoted again, the higher sum would only have applied to Bundesliga clubs.
Before the last market value update of the season on June 28, Pherai had already surpassed both sums, since the end of March he has been one of the most valuable players in the 2nd Bundesliga with EUR 2.5 million. Only HSV professional and compatriot Ludovit Reis (+3 to 6 million euros) shows a larger increase in the second division comparison.

Pherai himself, who has been linked to Schalke 04, 1.FC Köln, Mainz 05 and FC Augsburg in the TM rumor mill, said: “I can hardly wait to play in this stadium and in front of these fans.
