Immerse Yourself in the History of Medicine: A Guided Tour at the Palace of the School of Medicine

With the aim that people spend a pleasant moment in which they forget about day-to-day worries, enjoy the holiday season and disconnect from the outside world to travel to the past and thus Knowing the history of Medicine, some myths, legends and interesting facts, the Palace of the School of Medicine carried out a guided tour on the Museum Night in July.

Upon arriving at the venue, the guides welcomed the public and gave them a sweet to start with a good taste in the mouth; Afterwards, they divided everyone into groups to visit the Apothecary, Wax, Reconstructive Surgery, Embryology, Histology, Pre-Hispanic Medicine, Ophthalmology, Ear, Nose and Throat rooms, and especially Herbalism, where they met the 40 specimens of exposed plants. They also got to know the Perpetua Prisons and enjoyed the temporary exhibitions “The Hallucinations”, “Painting and embroidering intermittently” and “Malestar”.

The tour lasted two and a half hours in which around 500 attendees enjoyed a night full of science and culture, which was coordinated by Dr. Mónica Espinosa, head of Promotion and Cultural Diffusion of the Palace.
