Los Angeles, CA – The Impact Collaborative, a New York-based network dedicated to amplifying social impact, has officially expanded its operations to the West Coast, opening a new office in The Preserve, Hollywood. This move signals a meaningful step in the organization’s mission to foster collaborative innovation and support socially conscious storytelling.
Social Impact Entertainment Studio Aims to Fill a Void
The expansion includes the launch of the Social Impact Entertainment studio, designed to produce compelling narratives with a focus on social issues. The studio aims to provide revenue streams for non-profit organizations, stepping in to address the gap left by Participant Media’s closure last year after two decades of similar programming.
One of the studio’s first projects is a documentary feature by Ben Levin. It will follow the U.S. Paralympic Sled Hockey team as they prepare for a highly anticipated rematch against Canada at the 2026 Winter Paralympics in Milan, Italy.
New Physical Soundstage and Leadership Perspectives
To support its content creation efforts, the Impact Collaborative is nearing completion of a physical soundstage at The Preserve LA. This facility will host numerous podcasts and is slated for a ribbon-cutting ceremony this fall.
“Los Angeles is world-renowned for its creativity and the power of storytelling, but it is also a city that embodies resilience, diversity, and the spirit of community,” said Dr. Claire Wang, the organization’s inaugural executive director. “The Impact Collaborative is all about collaborative innovation by connecting nonprofit community-based organizations, business solutions, and storytelling. I can’t think of a better backdrop for charting a new frontier.”
Advisory Board Expansion
The Impact Collaborative has also strengthened its advisory board with the addition of Brandy Curry, chief of staff of the Television Academy and producer for the Emmys. Curry’s expertise will be invaluable in shaping impactful narratives.
“Brandy’s unique ability to craft narratives that inspire action is exactly what we need to bridge understanding and drive support for our initiatives,” said Traci Donnelly, founder and president of Impact Collaborative. “I’m thrilled to collaborate with someone who recognizes the power of authentic storytelling in advancing social impact.”
Participant Media, known for films like “Spotlight” and “An Inconvenient Truth,” was a major force in socially conscious filmmaking before its closure. The Impact Collaborative hopes to continue this legacy.
