A report released by the Municipality and Planning Department of Ajman stated. There are currently seven authorized measurement stations operating across the emirate.

The plan is to increase it to 10 stations in the coming years along with urban development. Air quality has improved from 93.37 recorded during the same period last year. In the first half of 2021, the index stood at 87.85 percent. Engineer Khalid Moeen Al Husni, Executive Director of the Department’s Public Health and Environment Sector confirmed that this demonstrates the emirate’s progress in the field of green cities and will elevate the emirate’s status as a desirable place to live and an ideal location for tourism and investment.

The department attaches great importance to air quality and combating all types of pollution. The emirate’s achievement exceeded the target set by the air quality indicator. He said that all the stations are linked to the Environmental Data Management Program, which is one of the best programs being applied locally, so that notifications and reports are prepared accurately and quality assured.
