LAHORE: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s life is in danger and there is a possibility of poisoning him in Attock jail, his wife Bushra Bibi has said. Imran Khan, who was arrested in connection with the Tosha Khana corruption case, is currently in Attock Jail. In a letter to the Punjab Home Secretary on Saturday, she pointed out that the court directed her husband to be transferred from Punjab’s Attock Jail to Adiala. Her husband, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman, has been locked up in Attock Jail without any justification. According to law, he should be shifted to Adiala Jail, they said. Geo News reported that they also demanded that 70-year-old Imran Khan be given B-class facilities in the jail considering his social and political status. Bushra Bibi said that there have been two assassination attempts on Khan and those involved are yet to be caught. Earlier this month, she visited Imran Khan in jail. After the Islamabad trial court found him guilty in the Toshakhana scam, Imran Khan was arrested from his home in Lahore. He has been in jail since August 5. Khan has been banned from contesting elections for five years. Bushra said in the letter that Khan should be allowed to eat home-cooked food in jail. They said that as per jail rules, Khan was supposed to have all the facilities ready within 48 hours, but nothing has been received even after more than 12 days. They demanded an inquiry into why Khan was denied better facilities.
