La Paz, Baja California Sur. (OEM-Informex).- The Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) in Baja California Sur implements a Family Medicine consultation program, to provide medical attention on weekends to the entitlement attached to the Family Medicine Unit (UMF)No .3. 4.
The assistant coordinator at First Level of Care, Dr. Israel González Cortes, commented that the benefits of this strategy is to provide medical care to insured patients and women who have prenatal care who cannot attend during the week for work reasons, so there is the option to attend to consult on Saturday by appointment.
The objective of this program is to improve the accessibility and timeliness of medical attention in the Family Medicine consultation, particularly for insured and pregnant women, using the infrastructure also on weekends.
González Cortes made a call to the workers and pregnant women affiliated with the IMSS and assigned to the UMF No.34 and who find it difficult to go to medical care to follow up on any illness or carry out a preventive check-up, they can request this alternative consultation with the medical assistant from your secondment office for a weekend appointment.

The opening of offices of said program will remain in force according to the demand that is registered during the week, that is, as the spaces of the agenda of the weekend offices are filled.
This program will be maintained until December 31, 2022 according to the demand for care.
