According to relatives, there are traces of beatings on the body of 27-year-old Dmitry Uskhopov; he was taken to the morgue in torn and wet clothes. Relatives suggest that the security forces poured water over him to wake him up, the Mediazona * newspaper reports. The Russian authorities consider him a foreign agent. According to eyewitnesses, the young man was detained an hour before the New Year, he was waiting for a bus at a bus stop and was drunk.
The Belarusian Investigative Committee reported that Uskhopov fell ill on the way from the police station to the hospital, where he was taken for a medical examination.
