“Having finished the final scrutiny, in Chaco the Massa – Rossi formula won, with 2,602 votes above the Milei – Villarruel formula,” Governor Jorge Capitanich wrote on Tuesday.

“Our province maintained its support for the Massa – Rossi formula. I appreciate the effort of all our space, let’s continue working in the coming years to defend our rights and national sovereignty,” added the Peronist leader.

The official results left Sergio Massa ahead, with 50.18% once morest Javier Milei’s 49.82%. The difference is 0.36 points (2,602 votes).

In this way, the official data reverses what the provisional scrutiny had marked: that in Chaco the elected president, the libertarian Javier Milei, had won by a narrow margin over Sergio Massa, in an election that is considered a technical tie due to that between one and the other the distance was less than one percentage point.

With this change, for now there are 4 provinces in which Massa won in the runoff: Buenos Aires, Formosa, Santiago del Estero and Chaco.

Provisional

In the provisional count, and with more than 98 percent of the tables counted, the La Libertad Avanza candidate had obtained 50.07% of the votes while Massa had 49.92%.

Election day took place normally and the percentage of attendance was similar to that recorded in the national contest.

“We have had a turnout of around 70% of voters in a day that has developed in an absolutely normal manner, without any major inconvenience. People were able to vote normally, even in those towns that are still affected by the water emergency,” said Government Minister Juan Manuel Chapo.

Beyond the statements made by the minister, the Unión por la Patria front had to file a complaint following discovering thousands of cases of torn or stolen ballots during election day.
