In Geneva, an overly generous pharmacist is sentenced for professional fraud

The pharmacist with a big heart, who had set up a drug exchange system under the nose and beard of health insurance funds, is found guilty of fraud by trade. The Correctional Court recognizes an altruistic motive while considering that his motivations have become less honorable over the years. The septuagenarian is sentenced to a 2-year suspended prison sentence. His deputy received an 8-month suspended prison sentence for complicity, while the five pharmacy assistants were given suspended fines of 90 to 180 day-fines. Five clients, prosecuted for having greatly benefited from the shenanigans, are on the other hand all acquitted and largely compensated.
