In Gmunden – people as “standers” and “flammers” in the color cosmos

Damn to discover
The retrospective in Gmunden surprises with works that have never been exhibited before. The focus is on aluminum as a carrier material for painting and graphics. These “aluminum pictures”, as Damisch once called them, were created in the years following the turn of the 21st century. On the one hand, large-format unique prints can be seen, on the other hand, impasto, expressive paintings, some of which are flanked by space-filling aluminum sculptures. All in all, it was an impressive encounter with the work of an artist who died too young.
