“The cathedral is a reference emblematic of Barquisimeto, that is why we are carrying out the recovery work together with the national executive to fulfill all the commitments that are made for the next month of January. During 2023 we will continue to recover other spaces to promote tourism in the municipality”, expressed the mayor Luis Jonás Reyes in the Cathedral, during the delivery of the mosaic of Jesus of Mercy, made by the artist Luis Mogollón, this Friday, December 23 at noon
The municipal president thanked Father Mario Badoglio for his hospitality and kindness for the placement of the mosaic whose purpose is to recognize the faith under the invocation of Jesus of Mercy

Reyes Flores, stressed that “During the course of the night, other spaces that have been recovered will be delivered, such as the square and the church of San José, and during the course of the next year other spaces will be addressed, such as the mantle of Mary, the town of Santa Rosa, the Concepción church and the recovery of the Macario Yépez square”.
For his part, Luis Mogollón, plastic artist and creator of the mosaic, explained that the work called “The Most Holy Jesus of Mercy” is 5 meters high and was built with the placement of 15,000 pieces that gave brightness and color to the picture.
