In Kalamata the Children’s Choir of the Polyphonic of Patras – 2024-04-27 13:44:15

The Children’s Choir of the Polyphonic of Patras is leaving next Saturday for Kalamata, which will take part in the 27th Kalamata Religious Music Choir Meeting, co-organized by the Kalamata Music Club “Orfeus” and the “Friends of Kalamata Music” Association, under the auspices of of the Metropolitan of Messinia.

The Meeting will take place in the surrounding Holy Temple of the Most Great Brigades of Kalamata, on Saturday evening at 8, with free entrance for the public.

They will participate: the Vocal Ensemble “de profundis” and Mixed Choir of the Pieridos Muses Katerinis
(conductor: Efthimios Mavridis), the Mixed Choir of the Kalamata Music Club “ORFEUS” (conductor: Ivan Matzaris), the Children’s Choir of the Kalamata Music Club “ORFEUS” (conductor: Giorgos Sklikas), the String Quartet “Hemiolion” and the CHILDREN “POLYFONIKIS” CHOIRS.

Choral works of religious music by Greek and foreign composers will be heard, while the Patrini choir, directed by Maestro Aretousa Nikolopoulos and on piano by Marina Mylonas (both professors of the “POLYFONIKIS” Conservatory) will perform the works: “PRAYER”, YIANNIS KARKALAS, “DOLCISSIMA MARIA”, GIOACCHINO ROSSINI, “AVE MARIA”, HARIS PEGIAZIS, “STABAT MATER (Duetto: “Stabat Mater dolorosa”) GIOVANNI BATTISTA PERGOLESI and “MANA MOU, MANA”, Hymn of unknown origin, an obituary for Great Friday, rendering in Greek: Nikos Gatsos, CHRISTODOULOS CHALARIS, editing: SOFIA GIOLDASSI.

At the end of the concert, all the choirs will perform verses from the 1st and 3rd stanzas of the Good Friday hymns, which will be conducted by the Honorary Director of the CHILDREN’S CHOIR of “POLYFONIKIS”, Aretousa Nikolopoulou, after being selected by the organizers.

The head of the mission will be the Artistic Director of the Organization, Mo Stavros Solomos, while the Head Office will also be attended by the Superintendents of the department, Sofia Alexopoulou and Dimitra Tsiliboti.
