It is with a certain emotion that Léo and Julie Barlatier, the directors of Groupe Barjaneaccompanied by their father Jean-Pierre inaugurated, this Tuesday, September 26, the new premises of the logistician specializing in health products Eurotranspharma, in the Bréguières park, in Arcs-sur-Argens.

“It’s always a pleasure to come here, where the development of the group began”, explained the business manager. Because the Bréguières site, which today has ten buildings and where some 1,500 employees work, completes sixteen years of development with this new achievement co-signed by GBL Architecture and Cubic33 Group. This “beating heart of logistics on the Côte d’Azur”as Léo Barlatier describes it, is now full. “There remains a small area at the entrance for an office building”specifies the development manager of Barjane who had bet, more than fifteen years ago, on this plateau ideally located a stone’s throw from the A8 and at the gates of the Alpes-Maritimes, to make it a showcase of the group’s model.
Namely the creation of tailor-made warehouses, rented to its customers, with a maintenance and concierge service. The Bréguières park has around ten employees from Barjane, in charge of track maintenance and other green space or emergency repair work. “Our goal is to have very little turnover, for our clients to settle down over the long term and create lasting employment”pour suit Julie Barlatier.

Moving

Even if it means juggling spaces, when certain tenants ask for more space. It was the case ofEurotranspharma which moves a few meters to accommodate its own growth, thanks to optimized package processing lines.
Because the logistician owned since 2011 by Stéphane Baudry (Walden Group) today transports more than 30% of medicines in France where it has around fifty clients, laboratories, pharmacies, hospitals, etc.

Eutrotranspharma organizes 500 daily tours in France thanks to a network of around twenty agencies and four hubs. From the Nice-Les Arcs agency alone, thirty tonnes of goods leave every day for the Var, the Alpes-Maritimes and Monaco.

Traceability

Suffice to say that the new premises were eagerly awaited by the fifty employees of the company which carries out its “cross docking” mission every day. In other words, health products arrive by semi-trailer at 3 a.m. then leave in heavy goods vehicles or light vehicles at 4 a.m. to their place of distribution to the end consumer. Five shuttles are received each day. With drastic temperature conditions where traceability is essential.
From now on, 1,500m² are dedicated to storage between 15 and 25°, i.e. three times more surface area than before, and 110m² between 2 and 8°. “The warehouse is also equipped with twenty dock doors, twice as many as before, for faster processing”, comments an employee during the visit. The lines and motors are also doubled to ensure safety in the event of a breakdown.
A tool that matches the ambitions of Eurotranspharma, whose growth is exponential; 145M€ turnover compared to 30M€ in 2011… Since 2020, the Walden Group has been deploying a development plan on a European scale. After setting up in the Czech Republic in 2021, Walden opened this year in Spain and will launch in Germany in 2024. “We are going to create fourteen buildings and recruit one hundred and ten employees in six months”specifies Benoît Latteur, CEO Europe.
For its part, Barjane is continuing its development across the Channel and is looking closely at opportunities in the Var, perceived as the hinterland of the Alpes-Maritimes where land is lacking.
