LUXEMBOURG – An individual tried to snatch a watch from a person’s wrist on a bus. He was stopped.
A suspected watch thief was arrested on Saturday afternoon in Luxembourg City, police said on Sunday. The individual tried, around 4:40 p.m., to snatch a watch from the wrist of his victim, in a bus in the capital.
Other passengers managed to prevent the theft and held the suspected thief until police arrived. The prosecution ordered the arrest of the individual, who was presented to the investigating judge on Sunday morning.
Snatching of watches and jewelry, especially necklaces, has increased in recent years in Luxembourg and the police have even given advices to avoid such incidents.
Still in the theft of all kinds department, a car was broken into during the night, while it was parked on rue des Bains, in the capital. The thief broke the glass to steal various items. He was found rue Goethe, trying to repeat his misdeed on another vehicle. He was arrested and the stolen items were returned to their owner.
