A senior residence of twenty-two apartments and seven pavilions, near the city center of Maen Roch-Saint-Brice : this is what the site of the former Saint-Brice medical center will count by the beginning of 2023.
The municipality and the social landlord Espacil have indeed signed an agreement, almost two years ago, to launch the project.
Espacil already has solid experience in the construction of this type of equipment, called Helena residences.
These residences are dedicated to autonomous seniors who meet the conditions of resources for social rental. They have around twenty Type 2 and 3 accommodationaccessible and equipped common areas and convivial spaces.
The Maen Roch project was designed by the firm Tricot architecture.
“The land has been bought by Espacil and the markets are in progress” describes the mayor of Maen Roch, Thomas Janvier. Work is expected to start in mid-2021 and be completed in early 2023.
The municipal social action center of Maen Roch is a partner in the operation. It will recruit a social life coordinator (20 hours per week) to run the residence and support seniors in their daily lives.
A public meeting
A steering committee made up of representatives from Espacil and the municipality is at work to launch the project. It works in particular on the information to be given to users.
“A public meeting will be organized to present the project and on how the residents will be retained. Because they will also be chosen on their social life skills,” announces Thomas Janvier.
The mayor is not worried about the rapid filling of this residence, unprecedented in the territory of Couesnon-Marches of Brittany. Located near services and shops, it will also be close to the Marches de Bretagne hospital centre.
