In Novorossiysk, hurricane wind gusts increased to 38 m/s

– I traveled around the city, personally checked the scale of the consequences of the rampant elements. There was a message regarding wind increase up to 38 m/s. There is a blizzard on the streets, – he wrote in his Telegram channel Mayor of Novorossiysk Andrey Kravchenko.

Dozens of people and all the necessary special equipment are involved in cleaning the streets from snow.

– Are in readiness for the deployment of 11 stationary temporary accommodation for 550 people – added Kravchenko.

He noted that specialists have strengthened control over the operation of transformer substations, power lines and technological equipment located in the danger zone.

The mayor urged residents to be careful.

According to the regional hydrometeorological center, in the next two days the synoptic situation in the Kuban will be in opposition to the anticyclone from the northwest and the cyclone from the south.

On February 8, snow with a blizzard is expected in the region. The roads are icy. The wind speed in the main territory of the region will be up to 22 meters per second, on the Black Sea coast – from Anapa to Gelendzhik – up to 34 meters, in some places hurricane squalls up to 38 meters are possible. The air temperature at night is from -6 to -11 degrees, in the mountains – up to -14, in the daytime – from -3 to -8.
