In Puerto Varas: Minister Jackson Talked with Mayors of the Region and Announced Decree that Promotes Investment with High Social Impact
- The Minister of Social Development and Family, Giorgio Jackson Drago, arrived in the Los Lagos region to carry out a series of activities together with the Seremi, Enzo Jaramillo, the Regional Presidential Delegate, Giovanna Moreira and regional authorities.
The first milestone took place in the commune of Puerto Varas in a meeting with mayors of the Los Lagos region, in person and online, headed by the Mayor, Tomás Gárate, in order to discuss the different concerns that the authorities on the programs of the Ministry of Social Development and Family that they execute and also on the investment projects that today are in the process of evaluation by the same portfolio.
On the occasion, the minister informed the authorities of the publication of Supreme Decree 304 where communities, workers and companies will benefit, giving continuity to works projects with high social impact for each territory.
In this regard, the minister, Giorgio Jackson Drago, pointed out that “being able to talk with the mayors is essential for our management because they are the ones who have a day-to-day relationship with the residents of all the communes. In this meeting we were able to address various focused topics, on the one hand in the investment area, which for us is fundamental, it is a very important area of the Undersecretariat for Social Evaluation in our Ministry, particularly with Decree 304 of the Ministry of Finance, which It will allow until May 10 the companies that suffered the rise in the cost of materials to apply and readjust their budgets, reactivating investment projects that benefit the community.”
Additionally, the minister addressed issues such as the National Care System and the installation of the Local Childhood Offices, also pointing out that “there are some changes that we are considering in terms of the Social Registry of Homes, which are also very sensitive, very fundamental areas. And of course, we also had a conversation about how the municipalities are suddenly having certain contingencies, certain problems in which we are also called upon to be able to make the best trades to be able to solve”.
Subsequently, the authority went to the Purranque commune to carry out an inspection visit to the dialysis center that is in the development stage and that will benefit from said Supreme Decree, allowing the reactivation of said construction.
To end his visit to the Los Lagos region, a community meeting on care was held at Arena Puerto Montt, bringing together more than 150 people. In the instance, Minister Jackson explained details of the actions that the Government is carrying out in order to create a National Comprehensive Care System, an initiative that is a priority and commitment of the program of President Gabriel Boric.
