Near Rennes, incidents between police and demonstrators before a meeting in Bardella
POLITICS – Incidents broke out this Sunday, September 25 in Bruz, near Rennesbetween the police and 200 ultra-left protesters who tried to oppose the holding of a public meeting with Jordan Bardella (RN), AFP learned from the prefecture and the local party federation.

Whereas jordan bardella was expected around noon for lunch at a farm near the Rennes-Bruz exhibition center, according to the local RN federation, “200 ultra-left activists tried to oppose the holding of this meeting by erecting, in particular, a barricade on the RD 34”said the prefecture of Ille-et-Vilaine.
“The intervention of the security forces made it possible to restore traffic and Jordan Bardella was able to hold his public meeting and then leave for Paris in the middle of the afternoon”further indicated the prefecture, which specifies that a judicial inquiry has been opened by the Prosecutor of Rennes while“During the clashes, a policeman was slightly injured” and a vehicle has been damaged by “a throw of a molotov cocktail”.
A “coordinated attack”
Joined by AFP, the Ille-et-Vilaine federation of the RN mentioned “a very coordinated attack” : « They burned tires, they had firecrackers that exploded next to children, it’s very serious “said this source confirming that Jordan Bardella had finally been able to access the place of the meeting by car.

Leader of RN deputies, Marine Le Pen denounced “far left militias that trample democracy, encouraged by the passivity of our political decision-makers”. In the evening, Gilles Pennelle, member of the national RN office and president of the group at the Regional Council of Brittany put “directly involved the prefect and (the Minister of the Interior) Gérald Darmanin”.

Pressure from the prefect on Bardella?
Questioned by AFP, Gilles Pennelle notably affirmed that the prefect “pressured” on Jordan Bardella, on his arrival at Rennes station, so that he gets back on the train and gives up the meeting.
“Jordan made the normal decision to come to Bruz and the militants were able to return when the militias left the place”underlined Gilles Pennelle certifying to have alerted the prefecture for a week of a “attack of the antifa movement”.
Opponent of Jordan Bardella, the mayor of Perpignan, Louis Alliot who is also seeking the presidency of the party during the congress scheduled for the beginning of November, must also go to Ille-et-Vilaine in the coming weeks.
