In support of Ukraine .. Lewandowski terminates the contract of a Chinese sponsor!

Poland’s Robert Lewandowski, Bayern Munich’s star, decided to take a tough stance on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and decided to separate from one of his sponsors.

And GOAL can confirm by the Polish agency that Lewandowski made the decision to separate from the Chinese technology giant Huawei.

What is the reason for the separation?

The reason for this is that the Chinese technology group helped Russia secure its network against cyberattacks after the invasion of Ukraine.

Lewandowski was a global brand ambassador for Huawei, and the split is now supposed to cost him around five million euros.

What was said about the separation?

“We have taken the decision to end the marketing cooperation between Robert Lewandowski and the Huawei brand,” Lewandowski’s advisor, Tomasz Zauslak, told AFP on Monday.

Zavislak confirmed that “the implementation of all services by us will be suspended”, but at the time did not say the official reason for the move.

At the time, Polish media indicated that this was linked to a direct report published by the English newspaper “Daily Mail”, which stated that Huawei had helped Russia repel cyber attacks by pro-Ukrainians.

Denial and denial!

Despite Lewandowski’s decision to end the partnership, Huawei’s Poland subsidiary denied the report, calling it “fake news”.

Lewandowski is very committed to the Ukrainian issue, as he wore the armband in the colors of the Ukrainian flag to denounce the Russian invasion during the Eintracht Frankfurt match at the end of last February.

He said at the time: We must not accept what is happening there, and we must support Ukraine.
