It was a spontaneous decision last October. We had shoveled free for a week, but didn’t really know where to go. The Côte d’Azur was an idea – why not. “But Cannes, Nice, Saint-Tropez – don’t you go there in the summer?” I interjected. My head cinema played pictures of palm trees, beach promenades and film festivals (including stars and starlets, of course).
