In the Madinah region, the process of indigenization is intensified

In the Madinah region, the process of indigenization is intensified. It has been decided to implement 40 to 100 percent indigenization of the region in the labor market. The authorities aim to create more employment opportunities for the natives.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has released the procedural guidelines for the decision to indigenize various job sectors. Many small firms will be involved in indigenization. 40 percent of employees in restaurants, fast food shops, juice shops, malls and commercial centers will be indigenized. The decision will apply to establishments employing four or more workers in a shift.

50 per cent of the employees of cafes and ice cream parlors operating inside malls and commercial complexes, whether in independent buildings or not, will be indigenised. This percentage is applicable if there are two or more workers in a shift. Also, 50 percent of food and beverage wholesalers will be indigenized. Those in cleaning and cargo handling jobs have been exempted from the decision. The guidelines point out that 40 percent of marketing specialist and sales representative jobs and 100 percent of accounting jobs should be indigenized.
