In the new horror game, the hero has to survive in a huge IKEA store. reedus

The new indie game takes the best from horror films The Backrooms and Sons of the Forest, offering a story in which players will have to build items and survive in the trap of a huge store like IKEA.

Endless shelves and aisles, sickening colors and utter senselessness of what is happening is a psychological torture that we deserve for some terrible original sin. In the gigantic flow of things from STYR, as the local store is called, feelings, thoughts and time completely lose their meaning.

Corridors and huge pale warehouses, literally littered with goods, have become a prison for the protagonist, who is forced to wander forever through this cold space. Moreover, the floor manager turned into a giant monster with a rhinoceros horn instead of a face.

This is what The Store is Closed project looks like, an upcoming indie horror game where the architecture is constantly changing around you, and the staff hunt you for meat and blood.

In addition to escaping the mutated vendors who wear their bright yellow “I’m here to help” T-shirts, the hero must build a hideout by breaking furniture and stealing food from the store’s canteen. The goal, of course, is to find a way out of this underworld, but the only way to do so is to go deeper into the trading floors.

Like Sons of the Forest, the new game will feature an online co-op mode where you can survive with your friends. The project can currently be added to your wishlist Steambut a release date for the game has yet to be announced.
