Al-Marsad Newspaper: Historian Dr. Muhammad Al-Zalfa revealed the name of the tribe that used to rule the Asir region, prior to the first Saudi state.
Al Zulfa said, during his stay as a guest on the program in the photo: “The Bani Mughid tribe was the one that ruled the Asir region, prior to the first Saudi state.”
He added that the Bani Mughid tribe was one of the four Asir tribes, and had leadership over the neighboring tribes within the region.
And he continued that whoever rules Asir as a tribe is said to be a descendant of Yazid bin Muawiyah, because when the Umayyad dynasty fell, the Umayyads dispersed in many places, because of the cruelty of the Abbasids once morest them.
