A female elementary school teacher in her 30s, who won the ‘Teacher of the Year Award’ in the United States, is shocked to be accused of sexually exploiting the students she teaches.

The New York Post recently reported that Jacqueline Ma, a 34-year-old teacher at Lincoln Acres Elementary School in National City, was charged with child sexual abuse and possession of child pornography.

Ma is said to have pleaded not guilty to all 15 charges brought against him.

According to the New York Post, prosecutors said a photo of the victim was found in Ma’s wallet at the time of the arrest. It was also investigated that they had jewelry with the victim’s name initials engraved on it. A letter sent to the victim was also found in Ma’s classroom.

Prosecutor Drew Hart, who was in charge of the case, said, “Ma also expressed jealousy when the victim was talking to other girls.”

He continued, “It was investigated that Ma had been in an inappropriate relationship since the victim was 12 years old.”

He added, “It was found that Ma sent inappropriate photos to the student and asked the student to record and send sexual acts.”

The victim’s parents reported to the police on the 6th, saying that their 13-year-old child seemed to be getting inappropriate things from the teacher.

Upon receiving the report, the police immediately launched an investigation and arrested Ma the next day on charges of lewd behavior with a child.

Ma is charged with 15 felony counts, including forced sexual intercourse with children and possession of child pornography. She is currently imprisoned in the Las Colinas Women’s Detention Center without bail.

Prosecutors said Ma could face up to 29 years in prison if convicted on all charges.

Meanwhile, Ma received the 2022-2023 ‘San Diego County Teacher of the Year’ award.
