*Lulu Group targets exports of 200 million euros in two years
Milan: Lulu Group has opened a food processing export center ‘Y International Italia’ in Milan, one of the metropolitan cities of Northern Italy. Italian Minister of Economic Development Guido Guidasi inaugurated the new center in the presence of Lulu Group Chairman MA Yousafali.
Roberto Rizzardo, Head of the Italian Investment Promotion Department, Valerio Soldani, Director of the Italian Trade Agency, Cesari Trevosani, Chairman of the Arab Chamber of Commerce in Italy, Nasser Al Khaja, UAE Embassy Charge d’Affaires, Mohammed Altaf, Lulu Group Director, and Alessandro Simone, Head of Lulu Group Italy. Lulu Group Chairman M.A. said that the new step in Italy is a part of the implementation of Lulu’s goal of ensuring quality food products with price stability by eliminating middlemen. Procuring directly from local farmers and cooperatives will pave the way for further progress in Italy’s agriculture sector and create more jobs, Yousafali said.
The mission is also to introduce Italy’s unique food culture and products internationally. A variety of fruits, vegetables and Italian products will be available at Lulu’s 255 hypermarkets.
Lulu aims to export 200 million euros from Italy within two years.
Italian Minister Guido Guidzi said that this project will contribute to the further strengthening of trade relations between Italy and the Arab community and guarantees all kinds of support and cooperation.
Lulu Group also has food processing facilities in UK, USA, Spain, Turkey, Vietnam, Thailand, China and South Africa.
Mediterranean fruits and vegetables including Italian apples, grapes, kiwis, Italy’s unique cheeses, chocolates, fruit jams, pastries, pastas, extra virgin olive oil and high quality seafood.
