Incheon Port Yard Tractor Eco-Friendly Equipment Conversion, Recruitment of Participating Companies

Incheon Port Authority, 7 Yard Tractors

90% support for DPF attachment and maintenance cost

Incheon Port Authority (IPA) announced that it will recruit participating companies for the ‘2022 Incheon Port Yard Tractor (YT) Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Attachment Support Project’ by the 30th of this month.

Yard tractor is a mobile equipment for yard used to move containers. This year, 7 yard tractors will be supported.

The Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the IPA each support 45% of the project cost, while the remaining 10% is borne by the project target. The yard tractor attachment and maintenance cost is 5.25 million won per unit, and the support amount is up to 4.72 million won per unit.

The target of support is those who own and operate diesel yard tractors as cargo handling equipment among port cargo operators (container terminal operators) in Incheon area registered with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (Incheon Regional Maritime and Fisheries Administration) according to the ‘Port Transportation Business Act’.

Companies wishing to participate must visit the IPA and submit the application documents, and details can be found on the IPA representative website (People Communication-Notice Madang-News).

If DPF is attached to 7 yard tractors this year, the conversion of Incheon Port yard tractors to 100% eco-friendly equipment will be completed. As of the end of last year, a total of 115 yard tractors were in operation at Incheon Port, of which 40 were introduced as eco-friendly equipment, and 68 DPF installations were completed in 2020.

DPF is an exhaust post-processing device that physically collects and burns particulate matter (PM) in diesel engine exhaust gas and removes it.

An official of Incheon Port Authority said, “We hope that the operator of the ‘Con’ terminal will actively participate in the conversion of 100% eco-friendly equipment for Incheon Port yard tractors.
