Choruurthi: The passenger was stabbed in the train. The assailant fled. The incident happened when the Marusagar Express arrived at Shornur station around 10.50 pm on Sunday. Devan, a resident of Parappanangadi, was injured. Eyewitnesses say that he was traveling in the general compartment and was stabbed in the eye area with something like a wire.
After the incident, the passengers ran away in panic. Meanwhile, the assailant escaped by crossing another train.
The injured person was taken to the hospital by the locals and the police in a bleeding state. The injured person testified that he did not know the attacker.
