The prices of all fuels rose slightly yesterday in Lebanon, according to the latest scale published by the Ministry of Energy and Water, with gasoline prices experiencing successive declines in recent days, while those in diesel and gas were up slightly.
Thus, 20-litre cans of 95- and 98-octane gasoline cost 568,000 Lebanese pounds and 580,000 pounds respectively, following an increase of 6,000 pounds. As for the price of diesel for vehicles, it cost 658,000 pounds, following a mark-up of 7,000 pounds. The gas cylinder was priced at 320,000 pounds, up 3,000 pounds. The kiloliter of fuel oil used by private generators remained fixed at 1,004 dollars as in the last scale.
Commenting on this price variation, the spokesperson for the union of service station owners in Lebanon, Georges Brax, explained that it is due to the increase in the exchange rate of the Sayrafa platform, according to which 85% is calculated. gasoline prices (from 25,800 to 26,100 pounds to the dollar) and on the parallel market (from 30,675 to 30,975 pounds to the dollar), while world fuel prices remained stable.
