Increase in turnover and increase in passenger activity, the ONCF confirms its rebound in 2021

consolidated accounts of the group for the 2021 financial year.

Passenger activity resumes

The achievements of passenger activity at the end of December 2021 show a remarkable rebound. The number of passengers improved by 63% from 21.1 million in 2020 to 34.4 million travelers in 2021, and the turnover increased by 92%, reaching 1.546 billion passengers. dirhams in 2021 against 803 million dirhams in 2020.

By completing its 3rd year, Al Boraq won 100% of new users in 2021 by transporting 2.59 million passengers, compared to 1.3 million travelers in 2020. It generated a turnover of 344 million dirhams in 2021 against 165 million dirhams in 2020 (i.e. +108%).

Sales up 29%

With more than 25.5 million tonnes of goods transported in 2021, i.e. +3.7% compared to 2020, freight and phosphate rail transport generated a turnover of 1.853 billion dirhams, i.e. +2 .7% compared to 2020.

Thus, the ONCF closes the year 2021 with all the financial indicators in green. Through the effect of passenger activity which has returned to growth and resilient goods transport activities, the Office achieved in 2021 an overall turnover of 3.628 billion dirhams against 2.8 billion dirhams in 2020 (i.e. +29%).

The operating result also recorded an improvement compared to 2020 of 551 million dirhams.

In terms of investment, this related to an amount of 1.4 billion dirhams in 2021, devoted solely to the completion of ongoing operations and priority projects to maintain security and quality of service. .
