Increased car sales in Greece in the second quarter

OR Greek Statistical Authority announces the monthly Turnover and Volume Indicators in Automotive sector of the April-June 2023 period, the evolution of which, according to provisional data without calendar and seasonal correction.

In more detail:

The Turnover Indicators in industry 45 of the NACE Rev. classification. 2 (wholesale, retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles) for the period April-June 2023, compared to the indicators for the period April-June 2022, showed an annual change as follows:

• April, up 12.3%
• May, up 18.6% and
• June, up 22.3%;

while the Volume Indicators in sector 45 presented an annual change as follows:

• April, up 4.2%;
• May, up 10.1% and
• June, an increase of 15.4%.

The Turnover Indicators in group 451 (sales of motor vehicles) for the period April-June 2023, compared to the indicators for the period April-June 2022, showed an annual change as follows:

• April, up 14.5%
• May, up 22.9% and
• June, up 29.8%;

while the Volume Indices in group 451 showed an annual change as follows:

• April, up 5.6%,
• May, up 13.3% and
• kJune, an increase of 22.3%.
