Increased support after acts of violence in Berga

Linköping municipality is setting up a security point in Berga after an act of violence on Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday afternoon, August 13, the police were called to the Berga district in Linköping due to loud explosions. An injured person was found near Berga church and the police set up a cordon at Söderleden near the church. Police operations are underway at the scene. The police urge the public to respect any roadblocks and let them do their job.

FRG is on site

Due to the event, the Voluntary Resource Group, FRG, will set up a meeting point at the Berga center. Personnel from FRG will be in the area for security-creating presence between 6-11pm on Tuesday evening and 9am-9pm on Wednesday.

As regards municipal operations, Pulsbanken closes for the evening but remains open as usual on Wednesday. Berga library is open as usual until 19:00. Municipal leisure and preschool activities are open as usual tomorrow, Wednesday.
