The directors of Independiente Medellín announced, during the celebration of the 110 years of the institution, that they acquired the property of the Pilsen de Itagüí club, which will be suitable as another sports headquarters for the People’s Team.
Daniel Ossa, president of the red club, mentioned that the acquired land consists of “47,540.09 square meters, 6 thousand of them built.”
The leader emphasized that the project they have designed with said headquarters includes the development of three natural grass fields (two of them with regulatory measurements), in addition to six synthetic grass fields.
Likewise, it is planned to adapt a dressing room for the professional teams, a gym, a video and press room, an auditorium for 300 people, a restaurant for players and employees, and spaces for the enjoyment of the community and the Poderoso fans.
“We were overdue to have something like this, it is an institutional failure, we are going to be able to rub shoulders with any team in South America in terms of infrastructure and that is why within the framework of the celebration of the 110 years of the club we want to share it with the red fans” Ossa commented.
In this way, the Poderoso will have two sports venues in which both the professional team led by Alfredo Arias and the basic forces groups will be able to have scenarios to prepare, both for the competition in the first division and in the other categories, in Llanogrande and in Itagüí.
In the new headquarters, which has been linked to the history of the team, as it has prepared many tournaments there, in addition to the sports part, the administrative offices and minor division groups will continue to operate, as has been happening since October 2022, when the DIM had moved its offices to Pilsen.
Finally, President Ossa stated that they want to give special thanks to Bavaria, one of their sponsors. “Once again we make history together on the path of football and celebrate 110 years, working for the sporting and institutional growth of the Poderoso.”
The People’s Team celebrated with its fans and the reunion of several old glories who came to the Atanasio Girardot to share in a special event that had a friendly game that ended tied at three goals.
This as a preamble to Sunday’s classic against Nacional in the semifinals. The DIM is the leader of Group B.
Preparing the classic
