Indian scientists have introduced a new shoe sizing system designed specifically for Indians.
This shoe size system was named “BHA” (BHA) which stands for “India”, it was intended to replace the existing British, European and American size systems.
In a survey conducted between December 2021 and March 2022, 3D foot scanning of over one lakh Indians at 79 locations provided insights into the size, dimensions and structure of the average Indian foot.
The survey revealed that Indian feet are generally wider than those of Europeans or Americans. The findings also revealed that under the current shoe sizing system, many Indians wear shoes that are either too big or poorly fitting.
Number six for twelve to fourteen year old boys
Number seven for females fourteen years and above
And number eight will be for men of fifteen years and above.
Scientists say production will mainly focus on sizes three to eight to meet the needs of the majority of Indians.
