India has invited influencers from the Muslim world to restore its sunken reputation in front of the world due to rape and open violations of human rights.
India has invited a 15-member team of United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based content creators specializing in travel, tech, food and lifestyle to New Delhi. All these social media influencers arrived in India on August 26 on the invitation of the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
The team of influencers has arrived in India on an eight-day tour, visiting historic sites and higher education institutions in Delhi, as well as the Himalayan region of Leh and Ladakh.

This is the second time that the Indian government has invited foreign content creators. In April, a group of 19 influencers from Nepal and Sri Lanka visited India’s most famous monument, the Taj Mahal in Agra and Mumbai.

Rutavi Mehta, an Indian content creator based in Abu Dhabi who is helping the Indian embassy in the UAE coordinate the project, told Arab News that the aim was to show India from different angles.
“These content creators can create a positive image of India in the Middle East…most Emiratis come here for health treatment,” he said. This gives them a perspective on India. They know India but they have not seen the other side of India’.
