Indian Athlete Parveen Hooda Wins Asian Games Women’s Boxing Medal and Qualifies for Paris Olympics

Indian athlete Parveen Hooda won a medal in Asian Games women’s boxing. The player reached the semi-finals of the 57 kg category and qualified for the Paris Olympics. She entered the semi-finals following beating Uzbekistan’s Sitora Turdibekova. The judges declared Parveen the winner by unanimous decision.

Along with Parveen, Narender, Preeti Pawar and Lovlina Borgohain are among the medal winners in boxing. Nikhat Zareen won bronze in 50 kg boxing. Nikhat won the bronze following losing to Thailand’s Chuthamat Raskat in the semi-finals. Nikhat Sarin defeated Jordan’s Hanan Nasser in the quarter. In women’s hockey, the Indian team entered the semi-finals. They drew 1-1 once morest South Korea in their last match in Pool A.
