Indian family dies in snow in Canada

NEW YORK: An Indian family of four has died in a snowstorm in Emerson, Manitoba, a Canadian province near the US-Canada border. The accident took place at a temperature of minus 35 degrees Celsius. Manitoba Royal Canadian Mounted Police have found the bodies of an adult woman and man, a teenage boy and an infant. Police said they were trying to cross into the US from Canada.

Meanwhile, Steve Shand, a U.S. citizen, was arrested in Florida on suspicion of human trafficking across the border. He is suspected to have been involved in the Emerson incident. U.S. forces have arrested another group of five people who had crossed the border. Authorities say they walked regarding 11 hours to cross into the US.
