Indian squad for SAFF U19 Championship announced. Indian U-19 football head coach Shuvendu Panda announced the 23-member squad. The championship will be held on September 21 in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal.

Goalkeepers: Lionel Darryl Rimi, Divyaj Dhawal Thakkar, Manjot Singh Parmar.

Defenders: Thomas Kanamutil Cherian, Jahangir Ahmed Shahgoo, Vijay Marandi, A Siba Prasad, Manabir Basumatari, Surajkumar Singh Bam and Ricky Meetei.

Midfielders: Manglenteng Kipjen, Ishan Shishodia, Arjun Singh Oinam, Yash Chikro, Ebindas Yesudasan, Raja Harijan, Tumsol Tongsin.

Forwards: Gwagwamsar Goyari, Sahil Khurshid, Linky Meity Chabungbam, Kelvin Singh Thaorem, Navoba Meitei and Dinesh Singh Soubam.

The Indian team left for Saudi on Friday morning for the training camp and will arrive in the Nepalese capital on September 19. Team India is in Group B along with Bhutan and Bangladesh. Group A features hosts Nepal, Maldives and Pakistan.

At the end of the group stage matches, the top two finishers will enter the semi-finals. The final is on September 30. India, who hosted the Under-20 category last year, defeated Bangladesh 5-2 in the final to become champions.
