India’s Jai Dadi Group Launches $16m Nile Ferro Alloys Plant in Sinai

The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE) has partnered with India’s Jai Dadi Group to establish the Nile Ferro Alloys plant in the East Ismailia Industrial Zone. The $16m project will produce silico-manganese and process ferroalloys and scrap metal to supply Egypt’s infrastructure and railway sectors, according to Walid Gamal El Din, Chairperson of SCZONE.

What will the Nile Ferro Alloys plant produce?

The facility, located within the Technology Valley in Sinai, occupies 80,000 square metres. It specializes in the manufacturing of intermediate iron products from scrap metal and the production of silico-manganese. These materials are critical inputs for heavy engineering, construction materials, and the manufacturing of railway components. The project is expected to create approximately 300 direct jobs, according to SCZONE officials.

How does this investment fit into SCZONE’s growth?

Walid Gamal El Din stated that the SCZONE has attracted more than $16bn in investments from 30 different countries over the last four years. This includes over $7bn in investments during the 2025/26 fiscal year alone. The Nile Ferro Alloys plant is one of four industrial projects currently established in Technology Valley, which together represent $59m in investment and approximately 1,000 direct jobs.

Gamal El Din identified East Ismailia as a central pillar of the state’s development plan for Sinai. He noted that the zone is being developed as a specialized hub for ferroalloys and construction materials to support national development and increase export volumes to global and regional markets.

Who attended the foundation stone ceremony?

The event was attended by a delegation of Egyptian and Indian officials, including:

Who attended the foundation stone ceremony?
  • Nabil Habashi, Governor of Ismailia
  • Suresh K. Reddy, India’s Ambassador to Egypt
  • Subash Kumar, Chairperson of Jai Dadi Group
  • Mohamed Ibrahim, Deputy Chairperson of SCZONE for the Northern Area

What are the next steps for the Suez Canal Economic Zone?

Beyond industrial plants, SCZONE is developing integrated communities that include vocational training centres, healthcare facilities, and workforce development programs. Gamal El Din announced that further industrial and logistics projects are scheduled for inauguration in the Qantara and Sokhna zones during the second half of 2026.
