Sunday July 9, Kevin Ornec and Mourad Amar were indicted for destruction of property by fire in an organized gang. At the end of their presentation before the Ajaccien investigating judge, they were placed in pre-trial detention. Both men deny the charges against them. They had been apprehended on the night of Friday July 7 to Saturday July 8 in the parking lot of Ajaccio airport when they had just got off the plane from Marseille, which arrived late.

Saturday morning, a third person was arrested before being released without charge in the evening.

No information on the mobile of these firings has filtered. Nevertheless, according to our information, the two men indicted would be considered more as performers than as sponsors.

As a reminder, a few minutes apart on the night of December 4 to 5, 2022, two voluntary firings had targeted establishments in Corte, Le Bama and Le 24, shortly before 3 a.m. Then, around 4:30 am, it was the Mercedes dealership in Aiacciu which had been the target of the same procedure. The Bama and the car garage then belong to relatives of Gilles Simeoni. The son of the President of the Executive is the co-manager of the first, the second is the property of Jean-André Miniconi, candidate for the municipal elections of Aiacciu in 2020, supported by the boss of the Assembly of Corsica.

A few days later, put on the trail of a single action by the discovery of a charred vehicle in the town of Ocana and by the use of video surveillance, the investigators had joined the two investigations, convinced that the car had used for all the facts. The files were officially brought together in the office of an Ajaccio examining magistrate at the end of last January.
