INDONESIA was appointed to host the first Red Bull BC One Regional South East Asia Final. The final of the breakdance tournament in Southeast Asia will be held at M Bloc Space Jakarta.

In the tournament, B-Boy LegoSam from Malaysia and B-Girl TinieRawk from Vietnam emerged as the best breakers in Southeast Asia, earning the prestigious title of Red Bull BC One Regional South East Asia Champion.

The win not only etched their names in breakdancing history but also gave them wildcard entry into the qualifying rounds for the 2024 Red Bull BC One World Finals, which will be held in Brazil this year.

Even though the Regional Cyphers are held in various countries in Southeast Asia such as the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand, this event marks the first time Indonesia has hosted a regional event, setting a new milestone for the local and regional breakdance community and bringing together some of the best breakers from all over the world.

“It is an honor to be able to host the 2024 Southeast Asian Finals,” said Kreate, coach of the Indonesian breaking national team.

“Red Bull BC One itself is the most prestigious event and the biggest 1 on 1 breaking event in the world. “With the Southeast Asia tour by Red Bull (blue and silver), it gives hope to communities in the region to participate in the world finals,” he said.

The journey to the final round was not easy, starting with the Red Bull BC One Regional Cypher Indonesia on March 21, which attracted more than 130 breakers from all over Indonesia.

There, B-Girl DC from Jakarta not only enchanted the jury and audience but also emerged as winners, securing their position as Indonesia’s representatives at the regional finals.

After winning the title as representative of Indonesia, B-Girl DC could not hide her excitement by saying “Because I am now officially an athlete from Jakarta, I have to push and prepare myself for Red Bull BC One. “This event is very exciting to be able to compete against other countries for the first time in Indonesia.”

Experienced judges from Red Bull BC One All Stars presided over the event, bringing their expertise and insight to the competition. Their involvement goes beyond just scoring as they also have the opportunity to engage and inspire the local breakdancing community.

Currently, all eyes are on B-Boy Lego Sam and B-Girl TinieRawk as they begin their journey to represent the South East Asia region in the Red Bull BC One World Finals.
