Industrial production fell again in October, by 2.6% over one month

INSEE indicates that the decline in industrial production increased in October, to the tune of 2.6% once morest 0.9% the previous month. This accentuated fall is explained in particular by a vertiginous drop in production in coking-refining.

Industrial production in France fell by 2.6% in October over one month, following a decline of 0.9% in September, the National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (Insee) reported on Friday.

This new decline is explained by a drop in production “in all the major branches”, advanced INSEE, which underlines in particular the drop in the extractive industries, energy and water (-5.6% in October, following 2.8% in September) and the heavy “fall” in coking-refining (-46.3% following -6.5%), “due to the strike movement which affected the refineries”.
