Kanpur: With the first Test of the Test series against New Zealand (INDvNZ) set to begin in Kanpur on Thursday, there is a heated debate among fans over the dietary plan for the Indian cricket team. According to India Today, players are advised to serve only Halal Meat and not Beef and Pork for any reason.

The report also states that players should not be given food containing pork and beef in any form. But the BCCI has not confirmed this. Cricket management associations in the states where team management matches are usually played are provided with food, security and travel requirements, which are approved by the state associations for BCCI approval.

But this time, the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (KCA) in Kanpur, the venue for the match, has prepared the menu for the players, not from the BCCI. Meanwhile, the food menu provided by the New Zealand cricket team includes red meat and white meat.

The first Test of the two-match series starts in Kanpur on Thursday. The second Test starts in Mumbai on December 3. Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane will lead India in the Kanpur Test as captain Virat Kohli has been rested. Kohli will return as captain in the second Test.

India Test squad: Ajinkya Rahane (Captain), Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara (vice-captain), Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Wriddhiman Saha (wicket-keeper), KS Bharat (wicket-keeper), Ravindra Jadeja, R Ashwin, Axar Patel, Jayant Yadav, Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Md.
