IndyCar. Will Power wins the Detroit Grand Prix

Australian Will Power (Penske) edged American Alexander Rossi (Andretti) by one second to win the Detroit Grand Prix, 7e IndyCar championship race on Sunday and take the lead in the overall season standings.

A nice climb

Power, who started from the 16e place on the grid, passed his teammate Josef Newgarden, who started on pole, in 15e round. And he stayed in the lead until the end, resisting the pressure imposed by Rossi.

“I made my way through traffic and had to fight”, agreed Power, who at the same time regains first place in the general classification with 255 points, three better than the Swede Marcus Ericsson, fresh winner of the Indianapolis 500 Miles. New Zealander Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi) completed the podium.

Party in 3e position, Simon Pagenaud (Meyer Shank) a terminé 9e. The other Frenchman in the running, Romain Grosjean (Andretti), was ranked 17e.
