In a message posted on Instagram, the young entrepreneur told her 1.6 million subscribers late Monday evening that she had “no words, no emotions, (or maybe too many)”.

Her ex-husband Bryan McCormick was recently sentenced to 6 months in prison for repeatedly hitting, strangling and threatening to kill her.

Between 13 and 15 episodes of domestic violence occurred during their relationship, according to a document filed when the 28-year-old pleaded guilty.

The businesswoman said she was torn about the upcoming incarceration of the father of her child, who attacked her, among other things, while she was pregnant.

“In the best case, he will go to prison, reflect on what he has done and become a better person,” she wrote in this message in English. But she also fears that “in the worst case [accumule] anger, and who knows what he will do when he is released”.

A victim of McCormick for months, the 25-year-old continues to have nightmares about him, and admits to not feeling as strong as some believe she is.

Immersed in doubt, she asks her community to stop asking her questions at any time about this case that haunts her.

“I would really like to choose when I want to think and talk about this subject, because on social media I am reminded of it several times a day and I don’t feel like I’m in a ‘safe space’ (“ safe space”)”, she testified.

Some promises

The popular content creator was not present for the sentencing of her ex-husband at the courthouse in Saint-
Jerome, July 5.

Before going to prison, McCormick assured the Court that he would continue his journey during and after his incarceration “to improve like no one”.

In addition to having to undergo anger and emotional management therapy, McCormick will have a three-year probation, the maximum period that could be imposed.
